Practice of law, not business of law. That’s why I went to law school, and that’s what I like to do. Maintaining my San Diego County practice in the black requires that overhead be kept to a minimum, both in terms of costs and time.

Billing is a necessary evil with any small business, law practices included. It must be done to stay in business and keep a roof over the office, but it takes time away from actually practicing law.
