Motorola said last week a federal court ruled in favor of the company in a patent infringement lawsuit brought by the Board of Regents of the University of Texas System. According to Motorola, the Federal District Court for the Western District of Texas said that certain Motorola handsets do not infringe on a patent related to text messaging software developed by the university. The ruling is limited to certain Motorola products, but all parties have agreed that all accused products fall within the ruling.
