One of the more predictable parts of my day as a Big Firm Cog is the series of morning and evening “commuter calls” I receive.
The commuter call is the handy little mechanism many partners have developed for finding a way to bill a client for their 45-minute commute to Seasons at Laurel Canyon or whatever other Golf/Tennis/Wilderness-In-Your-Backyard-million-dollar neighborhood where they reside. No longer do they have to lose those 1.5 hours of potential billing time to tailgating on the connector. With their Bluetooth-enabled Beemer, they can simply talk to the air — “Call Cog 456″ — and Shazam!, it’s billable!
