The bribery trial of ex-Brooklyn Justice Gerald P. Garson began on Monday. Garson is charged with providing favors to attorney Paul Siminovsky in exchange for free meals, drinks and in one instance a $250 box of Dominican cigars. In opening statements, the prosecutor said a videotaped ex parte meeting will show Garson assuring the lawyer that either way his divorce client "will win." Defense attorney Michael Washor said that the prosecution's case had "begun with a lie and ended with a grade B movie."
