An Ohio woman who sued a British doctor and a pharmacy branch after having been incorrectly prescribed eight times her usual dose of a steroid has been awarded $2.7 million by a British court. The plaintiff, who is a lawyer and Anglican priest, said she suffered paranoia, depression and psychotic episodes after taking the drug. She originally sought $9.7 million, and said she will appeal.

Cathy Horton, a lawyer and ordained Anglican priest, had sought $9.7 million for the 2001 mixup, which she says ruined her life.
