Attorney L. Branch Connelly died Feb. 26 of a gunshot wound at the age of 56. His death is being investigated as a suicide. Connelly was the law partner of Summerville, Ga., criminal defense attorney Bobby Lee Cook and was married to Cook's daughter, Kristina Cook Connelly, a Superior Court judge in Georgia's Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.

L. Branch Connelly, the law partner of Summerville, Ga., criminal defense attorney Bobby Lee Cook, died last week of a gunshot wound.
Connelly’s death is being investigated as a suicide, said Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead. The investigation is ongoing. An autopsy has been completed, but the report has not been issued yet, he said.
