Pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Co. has sued Lufthansa Cargo and DHL Express USA in U.S. District Court in Miami, alleging that the defendants mishandled and destroyed a multimillion-dollar medical shipment by failing to keep the products at the proper temperature.
The suit, filed last month by the Indianapolis-based drug company, claims breach of contract by Plantation, Fla.-based DHL Express and Germany-based Lufthansa Cargo. Lilly is represented by William Cassidy and Michael Black of Cassidy & Black in Miami.
