The new year begins with talks between two prominent Philadelphia firms looking to create the largest legal presence in Pennsylvania. Leaders of 300-attorney Wolf Block Schorr & Solis-Cohen and 500-attorney Cozen O'Connor have confirmed that the firms have been in merger discussions for about six weeks. Wolf Block Chairman Mark L. Alderman said that, on paper, the numbers and several of the practice areas seem compatible and that "there is serious interest on both sides."
