A federal judge is considering whether he has jurisdiction in a patent dispute involving two technology companies. Alien Technology, of California, filed a lawsuit in North Dakota in June, claiming Intermec, of Washington, threatened to sue Alien for patent infringement involving radio frequency identification products. Intermec's patent-holding company then filed a suit in Delaware, claiming 10 patent infringements. Both companies have ties to North Dakota.
