The deceased was a passenger in a friend's car when it crashed. The lawsuit seeks to hold the Liquor Commission liable because the driver, then underage, bought alcohol from a liquor store. The suit also names as a defendant the 83-year-old homeowner whose grandson invited the other young men to her home.

Randy Holmes, 24, was a passenger in a friend’s car when it crashed in September 2004. The driver, Matthew Kincaid, then 20, was charged with negligent homicide and is scheduled for trial next month.
