Trying to capitalize on this year's landmark win in a public nuisance case against the lead paint industry in Rhode Island, South Carolina plaintiffs firm Motley Rice and lead trial counsel John J. McConnell Jr. are helping four Ohio cities press similar actions. In the plaintiffs' sights are Sherwin-Williams Co. and seven other paint manufacturers. The same day that the cities of East Cleveland and Toledo filed their claims, Sherwin-Williams filed suit in Ohio federal court to block the cases.
