NTP Inc., a private patent holding firm, said Monday it filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Palm Inc., a maker of handheld gadgets and smart phones. NTP said its suit asserts that Palm's "products, services, systems and processes infringe NTP's patents." The company said it seeks injunctive relief "to prevent Palm from continuing to infringe on NTP's patents directly and indirectly," as well as monetary damages it did not specify.

NTP Inc., which successfully sued the maker of BlackBerry devices for infringement of wireless e-mail patents, said Monday it is suing Palm Inc., maker of the Treo smart phone.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court, alleges that Palm’s products, services, systems and processes have improperly used NTP’s wireless e-mail technology.
