Dozens of employees who said they suffered respiratory illnesses while working at an Ohio brake plant have settled their lawsuit against TRW Automotive Holdings Corp., according to lawyers for both sides. Investigators suspected the workers at the plant were sickened by inhaling a mist of metalworking fluid contaminated with bacteria. The lawsuit, filed in 2002, claimed TRW turned off fans in an effort to save money on energy bills and took other actions that damaged workers' health.

Paperwork is being prepared to dismiss the suit, which was filed in Ohio’s Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court in 2002. The sides have agreed not to release the terms of the settlement, Robin Weaver, a Cleveland lawyer for TRW, told The Columbus Dispatch.
