Merger talks between Stoel Rives and Weintraub Genshlea Chediak ended earlier this month, say partners from both firms. "Both our firms are enjoying a lot of growth in our area of expertise," says Weintraub partner Christopher Chediak. "Trying to combine these two firms might actually diminish some of the momentum in our respective areas." The 34-lawyer Weintraub has hired a corporate attorney and plans to pick up six or seven lawyers in commercial real estate, transactional licensing and litigation.
