A Manhattan judge has sanctioned a lawyer for stonewalling a onetime law firm associate who is suing the husband who tried to kill her four years ago. Attorney Lawrence A. Porcari is representing Paul F. Farrey, who pleaded guilty to repeatedly stabbing his wife, Donna M. Hughes, who subsequently sought civil damages over the incident. Supreme Court Justice Louis B. York ordered Farrey to pay $3,000 in sanctions for failing to cooperate with Hughes' discovery requests. He ordered Porcari to pay $2,500.
