Arlen Specter and Charles Grassley have expressed concern over the SEC's handling of a former agency attorney's allegations that superiors stymied his insider-trading investigation of a major hedge fund, Pequot Capital Management. In a letter, the two Republican senators told Chairman Christopher Cox that, despite SEC cooperation with a Senate inquiry, "many questions ... remain unanswered." The letter also requested that Cox make available several SEC employees for interviews by Senate investigators.

Two senior senators have expressed concern over the Securities and Exchange Commission’s handling of allegations by a former agency attorney that superiors stymied the insider-trading investigation of a major hedge fund.
Republican Sens. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Charles Grassley of Iowa, who heads the Senate Finance Committee, told SEC Chairman Christopher Cox they were troubled by the matter.
