As high-tech innovations emerge from Asia and the Middle East, there's a new wave of expansion opportunities for intellectual property firms. Indications are that patent litigation is on the decline, but patent prosecution seems to be a gold mine, even though litigation continues to produce the highest returns. Observers say prosecution growth could be tempered by the Supreme Court's recent decision in KSR International v. Teleflex , but in the meantime, business is booming.
