After telling young associates in previous articles how much they're despised by others, humor columnist The Snark returns to say some people love associates. He's talking about the legal recruiters, the copy company vendors and the tailors who call up associates to tell them how bright they are and how much they are valued. And while The Snark isn't planning to jump ship to another Big Firm and can't really afford the $3,000 suits, he really appreciates the validation -- and the treats they bring.

I know I may have depressed some of my fellow Cogs and wannabe Cogs with all that talk about all the people who hate us.
To be fair, there are also many people who love Big Firm associates. They shower us with phone calls, friendly e-mails, cookies, four-color glossy brochures and, if you return the love, an occasional free lunch or happy hour.
