General Motors has sued Goodyear Tire & Rubber, saying that Goodyear is improperly withholding some shipments in a price dispute, threatening the world's No. 1 automaker with "catastrophic, irreparable losses." GM filed its suit Monday in Michigan state court, alleging that Goodyear demanded "substantially higher prices" than those set by contract and refused GM's offer to make payments under protest during the dispute. GM says the tire cutoff could affect production and cause plant layoffs.

General Motors Corp. has sued Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., saying that the tiremaker is improperly withholding some shipments in a dispute over prices, threatening the world’s No. 1 automaker with “catastrophic, irreparable losses.”
The suit was filed Monday in Macomb County Circuit Court in the Detroit suburb of Mount Clemens. GM’s global purchasing and supply chain operations are based in nearby Warren.
