A New York federal judge has approved Lowey Dannenberg Bemporad & Selinger to replace Milberg Weiss Bershad & Schulman as lead counsel representing the $140 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund in a shareholder suit against Bayer. In response to criminal charges filed against Milberg Weiss and two partners, the fund's trustee is also seeking to remove the firm from the pool of those eligible to represent the fund in the future. The fund had been one of Milberg Weiss' biggest clients.

Southern District of New York Judge William Pauley has approved a replacement for Milberg Weiss Bershad & Schulman as lead counsel representing the $140 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund in a shareholder suit against German pharmaceutical giant Bayer.
White Plains, N.Y., class action firm Lowey Dannenberg Bemporad & Selinger was named new lead counsel in an order entered July 17.
