Barney Frank, D-Mass., wants Congress to give shareholders a greater say over executive compensation. Countering that proposal, Republicans say they have in the works a bill that will rein in lawyers. Said one Republican: "Trial lawyers are the ones who are sopping up investor wealth in this country."
