Townsend Chooses Japan for Its First Overseas Office

Patent and trademark specialist Townsend and Townsend and Crew has expanded internationally for the first time, adding a Tokyo base to its six U.S. offices. Townsend Chairman James Gilliland says the firm is also setting its sights on other destinations in the region, including China. "We have a number of Asia-based clients who enjoy working with Townsend and would enjoy it even more if we had a physical presence there," he says.

Patent and trademark specialist Townsend and Townsend and Crew has expanded internationally for the first time, adding a Tokyo base to its six U.S. offices.

The Tokyo office will be led by Japanese patent lawyer Hitoshi Akiba.
