Reed Smith Chairman Gregory Jordan dismissed reports Tuesday that questioned whether an affiliate of its potential merger partner, London-based Richards Butler, was against the merger. Richards Butler U.K. has an affiliation with Richards Butler Hong Kong, but the two split in the 1990s because of England's tax structure. Overseas reports have suggested that the Hong Kong office is distancing itself from any merger prospects, but Jordan says, "Hong Kong is very much a part of our agenda."
