Fort Lauderdale, Fla., plaintiffs lawyers John Robert Pape and Marc Andrew Chandler were silently escorted between two long rows of tables in a ballroom at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. They were surrounded by the more than three dozen members of The Florida Bar board of governors.
The partners at Chandler & Pape, famous for their television commercials featuring an image of a pit bull, stopped just a few feet short of the lectern. Both crossed their hands in front of them.
