As of July 1, Cozen O'Connor will raise first-year associates' starting salaries from $110,000 to $125,000 -- the largest increase at a Philadelphia firm this year. Firm management said it expects to base experienced associates' raises on merit and that salary increases won't up the firm's rates. Managing partner John J. Cunningham said he doesn't see a substantial increase in billable hours being required, but added, "Our hope certainly is that our people will work harder in return for this."

Cozen O’Connor has become the latest Philadelphia firm to raise its starting salary for first-year associates. Their starting salary will go from $110,000 to $125,000, firm management said Monday, in a move that will become effective July 1.
The $15,000 increase is the largest of any Philadelphia firm this year.
