A Lynn, Mass., company that makes the Marshmallow Fluff brand has sued Williams-Sonoma, claiming the culinary retailer is misusing the trademark Fluffernutter. Durkee-Mower, which claims it has been using the word Fluffernutter to describe a "concoction of Marshmallow Fluff and peanut butter combined together in a tasty sandwich" since at least 1961, says that Williams-Sonoma has been selling a marshmallow and peanut butter chocolate-covered candy named Fluffernutter without its permission.
