When I hear people say, “I don’tknow how I lived without[insert name of essentialdevice],” I feel some skepticism that thespeaker exaggerated the need for theproduct. Well, I concede my skepticismwith regard to one device: my BlackBerry.
A BlackBerry is one of many handhelddevices known as PDAs, or Personal DataAssistants. Recently, the press have beenfilled with articles about the BlackBerryand its maker, Research In Motion,which is a Canadian company based inWaterloo, Ontario. The company on Friday settled a patent infringement caseagainst patent-holding company NTPInc., ensuring that lawyers will be able to use their BlackBerrys without interruption.
