However, a group of farmers says it has acquired the rights by having it on T-shirts and other apparel for 20 years. The state accuses the Matanuska-Susitna Valley chapter of the Alaska Farm Bureau of trademark infringement and dealing in bad faith. Both sides point to long histories of involvement with the popular symbol.
