After more than five years trying to build a case against the country’s top class action plaintiffs lawyers, the Los Angeles U.S. Attorney’s Office seems to be backing off William Lerach and Melvyn Weiss.
On Friday, prosecutors told lawyers for the former star partners at Milberg Weiss Bershad Hynes & Lerach that they wouldn’t be indicted anytime soon, according to people familiar with the case.
