A contractor at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida e-mailed himself about 27,000 Social Security numbers from a company database, the company said Thursday. The company said it didn't know of any misuse of the data, which had been collected for identification badges and belonged to employees, vendors and contractors. The company learned about the computer breach after a computer signaled that inappropriate information had been transferred less than a day earlier.
