If only Kathryn Dixon had been a cobbler. That would have made things easier for a 9th Circuit panel that unanimously declined to overturn the sentence of a client she represented in an armed robbery trial. But Dixon was, in the words of 9th Circuit Judge John Noonan, "not a college student or a cobbler ... [but] a fully licensed lawyer with her head full of fantasies." And since Dixon had not yet been disbarred at the time of Young's trial, her counsel was not per se ineffective, the panel found.
