Intellectual property specialist Frederick Lorig has joined Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges in Los Angeles as a partner and co-chair of the firm's national trial practice. He is coming from IP boutique Bright & Lorig, which he started in 1988. Lorig is perhaps best known for a landmark plaintiff's verdict in 1993: The $1.2 billion award in an intellectual property case for his client, Litton Systems Inc., against Honeywell Inc. was the biggest of that year.
