The installation of the two newest members sets a lineup of commissioners that has been eagerly anticipated by antitrust experts. The reason: Each has extensive professional or regulatory experience in varied aspects of antitrust law, including mergers, competition policy and consumer protection.

His appointment fills the last of the commission’s empty seats. William E. Kovacic was sworn in Wednesday by Chairman Deborah Majoras. With the two Republicans installed, Majoras now has a three-vote GOP majority on the panel.
