Susan Creighton, director of the Bureau of Competition for 2 1/2 years, announced Tuesday she is leaving the FTC. During her tenure -- a time when the bureau's docket was greatly expanded -- she supervised the non-merger and merger enforcement divisions; helped shape antitrust policy and reorganized bureau infrastructure and processes, including the establishment of a litigation office. Agency Chairman Deborah Majoras tapped Jeffrey Schmidt, currently a deputy director in the bureau, to succeed Creighton.
