The law firm Holland & Knight has announced that it will lay off 41 attorneys and 45 staff as it closes nine offices and consolidates operations.

After an analysis, the 1,251-lawyer firm decided that “to maintain its competitive position,” it would merge smaller offices with its hubs in Washington, D.C., Chicago and in its home base, the Tampa, Fla., area.
