Former Gemstar-TV Guide CEO Henry C. Yuen, who was forced out in 2002 and later charged with inflating the company’s revenues, will plead guilty to obstructing a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation into accounting irregularities, a federal prosecutor said Tuesday.

Yuen, as part of an agreement with the government, will plead guilty to a felony charge of obstruction of justice at his initial court appearance Oct. 3, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Ranee Katzenstein.
