Even though the trial judge's instruction sounded plain enough -- "Y'all better not come back in court anymore on this" -- a plaintiff and his attorneys appealed anyway. The Georgia Court of Appeals responded by setting a $2,000 penalty. Writing for the unanimous appeals court, Presiding Judge J.D. Smith said the appellants "ignored the trial court's fully justified warning and prosecuted this wholly frivolous appeal." The case stemmed from a failed attempt to invalidate a property foreclosure.
