The public's image of the Supreme Court is eroding, with just over half of those in a new poll having a favorable view. "The Court is taking criticism from both sides of the political spectrum," said Andrew Kohut, director of the Pew Research Center. Democrats grew more critical of the Court in the wake of its ruling on the 2000 presidential election -- and conservative Republicans have also become more negative, perhaps due to social issues, the poll found.
