Clifford Chance's California dreams are shrinking, as its last partner in the state, Daniel Harris, has moved his four remaining associates to new offices in Menlo Park. "We have the two-story building all to ourselves," Harris said. The English firm opened in California with a splash a few years ago, but has since closed offices in San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles. Even Tower Snow, who brought in 16 partners from Brobeck, is now listed on Clifford's Web site only as a "consultant."
