The ex-wife of Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Oliver Diaz Jr. pleaded guilty Monday to attempted tax evasion and agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors in the bribery case against the justice, U.S. Attorney Dunn Lampton confirmed.

Attorney Paul Minor, former Circuit Judge John Whitfield, former Chancery Judge Wes Teel, Diaz and the justice’s ex-wife, Jennifer Diaz, are accused of participating in a scheme in which Minor allegedly doled out cash, loans and gifts to the three judges in exchange for favorable decisions.
