Shaw Pittman and Pillsbury Winthrop have signed a letter of intent today, signaling their commitment to merge.
The union of the newly minted Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman is expected to be finalized this spring, creating a roughly 900-lawyer firm, making it one of the top-five-grossing firms in the D.C. region and possibly one of the top 20 legal shops nationwide.
