Country singer Loretta Lynn is trying to gain the copyright to "Coal Miner's Daughter" and other songs that were hits for her. In a lawsuit filed this week in Chancery Court, Lynn asks a judge to void a contract she signed with Sure-Fire Music Co. in 1966 awarding the company copyrights to her songs. While forming those agreements, Lynn had no independent representation and was represented by the same lawyer who represented Sure-Fire, the lawsuit says.
