Some jockeys in the Kentucky Derby will be allowed to wear something extra this year: advertising patches. Federal Judge John Heyburn II's decision two days before the country's premier horse race applies only to seven jockeys who sued. Said one: "Jockeys work very hard and risk our lives on a daily basis. We have earned the right to make additional income." In a separate case, Heyburn ruled that all jockeys in the state can wear a patch with their union name.
