The Delaware Nation, an Oklahoma-based Indian tribe, has filed a federal suit claiming ownership rights to 315 acres of Pennsylvania land in a quest to run a gambling facility there. Delaware Nation v. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a court order declaring the land an Indian reservation, as well as an injunction requiring current occupants to vacate. The suit comes as lawmakers prepare to resume a debate over legalizing slot-machine gambling.
