For the second year in a row, salaries at Texas firms increased by very little on average, according to Texas Lawyer 's annual Salary & Billing Survey. The economy's down, clients are double-checking their bills (and often negotiating lower rates, flat fees or other fee arrangements), and aided by attrition and clients' sticker-shock sensitivity, firms are holding the line on associate and support staff salaries.
