The California Supreme Court hears a case today that transactional lawyers have a keen eye on. A lower court found that clients who sued their transactional attorney for malpractice didn't have to prove that the lawyer could have obtained a better outcome for them in order to recover the value of what they lost. Opponents warn that transactional lawyers now face a vast new exposure to malpractice unless that ruling is overturned.
