Los Angeles-based Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has elected eight new partners, two of whom are based in the firm’s San Francisco office. With the elevations, effective Jan. 1, the 790-attorney firm will have 257 partners. The new partnership class is smaller than in previous years. Last year, the firm promoted nine attorneys, and the year before it elected 12 to the partnership ranks. The new partners include four women and four men located in four of the firm’s 12 offices. The new partners in the San Francisco office are real estate attorney Deborah Cussen, who graduated from UC-Davis’ King Hall School of Law in 1993, and corporate transactions attorney Lisa Fontenot, a 1994 graduate from the University of Virginia School of Law. In the New York office, real estate of counsel Andrew Lance, who graduated from Yale Law School in 1983, and corporate transactions attorney William Rustum, a 1994 graduate of New York University School of Law, were elected partners. The other new partners are: Monique Drake, a 1993 graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, in the firm’s Denver office; of counsel Diana Richard, a 1988 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law, based in Washington, D.C.; Jon Shepherd, a 1992 University of Michigan Law School graduate, in the Dallas office; and Jean-Philippe Robe, who obtained an LL.M. degree from University of Michigan Law School in 1988, in the Paris office.
