Law firms work hard to show their commitment to diversity, from holding minority job fairs to making sure a diverse array of people appear in their recruiting brochure photos. But given this recruitment effort, minority numbers aren't rising like they should be. Why not? Mentoring may just be the way to ensure that commitment to diversity is followed with a commitment to retention and advancement.
