Sept. 11 literally pulled the plug on the first official news of the most substantial pro bono initiative in the history of the New York State Unified Court System -- establishment of the Access to Justice Center, the country's first court-sponsored entity to address the shortfall of civil legal services to the poor. That news had to wait, but the outpouring of pro bono service that has propelled the center forward was just beginning.
