Microsoft said Wednesday it has waived its right to a hearing before European regulators in hopes of speeding resolution of its antitrust woes both in Europe and in the United States. Some antitrust lawyers were skeptical about the move because the complainants in the case -- mainly Microsoft competitors -- still have a right to be heard under European Union rules and could demand a hearing on their own.
